    The Research and Development Cell (RDC) of Bundelkhand University, Jhansi, is a pivotal unit that drives the university’s academic research ecosystem, fosters a culture of scientific inquiry, and enables industry-responsive innovation. With NAAC A++ accreditation and recognition as one of the top-performing State Universities in Uttar Pradesh, Bundelkhand University’s RDC serves as a catalyst for multidisciplinary research aligned with national missions and global standards.

    Vision and Mission

    The RDC envisions making Bundelkhand University a globally recognized research hub that nurtures innovation, supports sustainable development goals, and contributes to regional and national progress. It aims to:

    Promote interdisciplinary, applied, and socially relevant research.

    Facilitate sponsored research projects, consultancy, and patent development.

    Create platforms for global and industrial partnerships.

    Strengthen academic contributions through high-quality publications, conferences, and knowledge transfer.


    Key Functional Areas

    Research Projects

    The RDC actively coordinates and monitors research projects funded by national and international agencies such as:

    UGC, DST, ICSSR, ICMR, DBT, CSIR, AICTE, ICAR, and SERB

    Several major and minor research projects are ongoing across departments in areas like climate resilience, renewable energy, agricultural innovation, biotechnology, education reform, and rural development.

    Faculty and research scholars regularly publish in UGC-CARE, Scopus, and Web of Science indexed journals.


    Consultancy Projects

    RDC facilitates faculty-industry collaboration through:

    Government consultancy projects with departments such as Jal Shakti, Urban Development, and Rural Affairs.

    CSR-funded programs in areas of water conservation, digital literacy, tribal development, and women’s entrepreneurship.

    Technical advisory and impact assessment consultancies for NGOs, MSMEs, and district-level agencies.

    Development of knowledge solutions and training modules for school education, health services, and governance models.


    International and Foreign Collaborations

    Bundelkhand University actively collaborates with foreign academic and research institutions for:

    Joint research programs and student/faculty exchanges

    Participation in global knowledge platforms such as Study in India, ICCR fellowships, and international conferences

    Strategic alliances with universities in Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East for research capacity building and policy-based cooperation

    The RDC assists foreign visiting faculty and scholars through visa support, collaboration proposals, and project coordination.

    Industry-Academia Partnerships

    Collaborative projects with industries in food processing, agriculture, natural resources, media, and education technology

    Engagement through Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) for curriculum design, internships, product testing, and prototype development

    Functioning of Bundelkhand University Active Startup Incubation Council (BASIC)—a DST and UP Government-supported unit that has incubated over 18 startups in areas like bio-fertilizers, AI-based learning, eco-tourism, and local crafts

    Technical support and R&D solutions for industrial partners under the Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives

    IIT Kanpur – Virtual Lab Regional Centre

    DST-sponsored Advanced Analytical & Animal Research Facility

    Media Lab & Studio for research in communication, digital media, and journalism

    Geological Museum and GIS Lab

    Institutional Research Ethics Committee (IREC) and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) for academic rigor and integrity

    Geo-portal with over 32,000 trees tagged, showcasing environmental sustainability through research
