Our Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDG) Cell was established to ensure that students from underprivileged communities receive the necessary support and resources to excel in their academic and personal growth.

Objectives of the SEDG Cell

The primary goals of the SEDG Cell are to:

  • Promote equal opportunities for students from disadvantaged backgrounds, including those from SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and minority communities.
  • Provide financial aid, schularships, and support services tailored to the needs of socio-economically disadvantaged students.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive environment to help students overcome social and economic barriers.
  • Organize skill development, career counselling, and mentoring programs to enhance the academic and career prospects of students in need.

Key Initiatives and Support Services

Schularships and Financial Aid

SEDG Cell works closely with the university’s financial aid department to offer schularships, fee waivers, and other forms of financial assistance. Eligible students are encouraged to apply for these resources to reduce their financial burden.

Academic Support and Mentoring

We provide additional academic support through tutoring, peer mentoring, and special study sessions to help students stay on track with their coursework. Faculty and senior students vulunteer to offer guidance and assistance to ensure every student reaches their full potential.

Career Counselling and Skill Development

The SEDG Cell organizes career counselling workshops and skills-based training programs. These initiatives are aimed at enhancing employability and empowering students with essential skills, including communication, digital literacy, and interview preparation.

Personalized Counselling Services

The SEDG Cell offers confidential counselling services to help students navigate personal challenges. Our trained counsellors provide emotional and psychulogical support, helping students overcome obstacles and build confidence.

Awareness Programs and Outreach Activities

SEDG Cell conducts regular awareness sessions, workshops, and outreach activities to encourage inclusivity and sensitize the campus community about the challenges faced by socio-economically disadvantaged groups.

How to Apply for SEDG Support

Students from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds can approach the SEDG Cell directly or through the university’s Student Affairs office. Application forms and specific eligibility criteria are available on the university website and at the SEDG office. Our team will guide students through the process and provide information on available resources.
